 ‹› the fiery dragon in the sky ‹›

it was an ominous sign in the sky, and no one could miss it. however, many were fearful of the portent, feeling that a fiery dragon in the sky must bid ill for their future. finally, after a certain amount of hubbub and mutterings of possible destruction, the old blind Seer came forward. everyone fell upon her asking, "what does it mean? ...are we to be destroyed by dragon or fire? ...should we run? ...."

the blind Seer, Jess by name, hushed them all, then stood before the incredible view with her hands held to the sky, feeling the sight in her fingertips.

"this is indeed a sign of great significance" Jess began, "but not one of destruction. can you not see? take heart, dear people; that is a benevolent Dragon, quite an auspicious sign to have grace our sky. she holds a sparkling jewel in her mouth as she flies, which is the promise of bright and prosperous times to come. even more than that, this jewel represents a long held wish or desire that is being brought into fruition. and see how the hills shine with the same prospect? this indicates that some of the roads ahead of us will be difficult, but will also be extremely rewarding. she is here, this beautiful golden fire dragon, to tell us to stay on our path, for we are moving correctly. however, the prominence of her multi~faceted eye is a sign advising us to open our eyes fully, to all possibilities and perspectives, so as not to become limited as we progress. in this way, we may anticipate any challenges and be prepared to stand against them.

there is fire there to be sure, but it is the fire of strength, fortitude, and forward movement. this speaks of the discipline needed to purposefully direct our energies with passion and creativity and see them through to the very ashes of completion. this fire also admonishes us to be aware, always, so that we may consecrate our actions at the correct moment when the fire is at the peak of its heat. this right action and correct timing, combined with the strength of our convictions, will bring us to the doorstep of success.

and finally, dear friends..." Jess said, as she lowered her hands and turned to face the assembly of listeners, "...see how she, this golden Queen of Dragons, is completely and contentedly facing the direction in which she flies, even as she moves against the wind? in this, she is saying simply and directly, 'do not turn away: face your future unafraid'."

as Jess, the old blind Seer, turned and walked toward the future, she mumbled over and over; "yes, indeed. quite an auspicious sight... quite an auspicious sight." and by then, everyone there agreed.
