‹› prepare for transformation ‹›

"that confirms it" exclaimed Teresa. known as  the Mistress of Runecraft, Teresa had met the woman, Olivia, who was seeking guidance from the Runes, at the edge of the pond just moments before. after exchanging greetings of a formal nature, for this was their first meeting, Teresa extracted a large handful of baked clay Runes from somewhere under her copious and unusual clothing, and peremptorily threw them into the water. many of them sank and didn't reappear, however, five of the Runes came back to the surface and floated in the duckweed. the runecaster gave a long sigh as she looked upon them, muttering to herself. just as she was about to speak to Olivia, a brightly colored moth flew by and landed on the center Rune. Teresa turned to the woman and exclaimed,

"that confirms it! this is the ancient casting called 'the three lifetimes'. this brightly colored flying beauty, a master of metamorphosis, has arrived just now to assure us of the truth this casting speaks. her body assumes the shape of the Rune of the Spiritual Warrior, which is exactly the Rune she landed upon. this is quite a strong sign from your Spirit, telling you to hearken well.

the Warrior Rune is in the place of the present. you are being advised that at this time you must have full awareness and be single-minded in the pursuit of your goals. the relationship with your spiritual Self is of extreme importance in this quest as well. it is asking you to delve deeply into the very core of your foundation of the self, and to view it with the open heart of the Spirit. here is how you may, in the present, meet your deepest needs and tap the root of your most potent resources....

to the right of the Warrior floats the Rune signifying a Breakthrough. it says that you have come into this life to experience a major transformation that has yet to happen, although you have, from birth, been traveling toward that breakthrough. it has been difficult work at times, but my dear Olivia, you were born to achieve this major transformation and you shall accomplish it. look for signs: it may come in the form of innovation or an outlandish idea of action or philosophy. be prepared, for it shall surely come soon....

to the left, in the position of your future in this life, we see the sigil representing the Gateway. as you open your heart to Spirit, and come upon the imminent transformation, you will reach a gateway which, once through, will significantly alter your present life. this Rune advises a time of contemplation at the gate. do not rush through it without first considering all the changes the transformation has wrought. at this time you may be presented with that which is still hidden inside you, that which must be let go of to step successfully through the Gateway. consider it well; observe all that has been, bless it, then release it. in this way, you will carry no extra burdens as you pass....

at the bottom of the casting stands the Rune of Movement. it is in the past incarnation position, telling me that you may have been prevented in past lives from progress, perhaps by your own lack of ambition or desire to move with the flow of events. the advise here, is again to let go of any bindings from the past, those that needlessly hinder the present, or your movement into the future....

and finally, in the future incarnation position at top, is the Rune of Strength. this is a statement of building strong and positive karma as you experience the coming transformation of self.. always be strength to others and bring compassion to each situation on the way, and you shall take a strength of character and Spiritual worth with you as you transition in this life or in any other. this is important to remember in every interaction, for it is the foundation for your future happiness...."

with that, Teresa spun around three times, and with each spin more of the Runes flew out of the water. she picked them up, placed them back under her clothing, and walked away quietly, as Olivia contemplated her past, present and future.
