‹› the song of Beauty ‹›

for such a young girl, Flora was surprisingly not intimidated at all. before, she would have been too nervous to walk into such a large group of adults loudly discussing serious matters. but not now; not after her visitation that very morning. she walked purposefully up to the front of the room and spoke clearly: "pardon me please for interrupting, but i have a message which needs be told. i had a visit with a hummingbird this morning...." "but that's impossible" broke in one man, "no one has seen hummingbirds around here for ages!" "yes sir, i know" said Flora, "and the hummingbird told me why. please listen." when everyone just looked at her in solemn expectation, she continued:

 "the hummingbird, i call her Beauty, flew to my shoulder singing a song which for some magical reason i could fully understand. Beauty said i embody the Spirit of Flora, the goddess after whom i am named, and it was for me to carry this message to you, which i shall relate word for word:

'the message which you must share Flora, is one of love and joy. this is the magic that we hummingbirds have and tell of, but it can be a fragile magic and one often forgotten, as it has been here. we do not fly here anymore because too many people have become coarse and offensive. we hear the music of Celestial Harmony which is based in love, as are all things in the Great Creation. please remind people of the importance of this. we love the flowers, and the flowers love us. therefore the vibrations of our mutual song are vibrations of pure joy. people can live this way if they choose, but when they do not choose thus, they do not taste the true succulent nectar of life. without an open and loving heart, everything begins to taste bitter, and the pure bliss of living flies away. please Flora, remind them of the importance of this. remind them to bring this open hearted love to the world around them and they will begin to see and taste again the delight of life. remind them that judgemental attitudes close the heart, the mind and the spirit, and bring not the sweet nectar of unencumbered joy. remind them to laugh and sing to the Celestial Song and to dance in the spirit of the renewal of life. beauty resides and abides everywhere, Flora, inside and out. remind them to see this, appreciate it with the love deep within. remind them of these things dear Flora, and you will help to release them from their cages.' 

Beauty then left my shoulder, but hovered quietly for a moment and said, '...and then also will the hummingbirds return."

Flora turned and walked away, not at all surprised that everyone followed her looking to the flowers and to the skies with different eyes.... 

love is the way of harmony, harmony is the way of the universe
