 ‹›Harmony, Stability, and Compatibility ‹›

"are you a witch or something?" one of the boldest of the group asked. "probably the 'or something'" the old man with long grey hair and beard chuckled, then continued; "no, i am not a Witch. just a humble Seer and teacher of learned wisdom." "then why do you have a cauldron bubbling there?" the student responded.

"glad you asked that" said the teacher as his life~worn eyes sparkled. "because today i wish to talk about Harmony, Stability, and Compatibility. and believe it or not, long before Witches became known for using it, the cauldron was a symbol of those very things and continues to be so to this day. in ancient times, it was used to cook large feasts where offerings were made to the Heavens and one's ancestors. these offerings represented their Harmonious relationship with the Spiritual realm, and the Stability of the strong cauldron was equated with the Stability of that Harmony. as a matter of fact, a great leader was compared to a great cook because their society was strong and their thoughts and actions were Compatible and Harmonious to the people's wishes. they extended this principle to everything and even thought of the entire universe as a giant cauldron...."

"but what could that possibly have to do with us now?" asked another student.

"good question" responded the teacher. "simply this: the ancient wise ones knew that the universe is a product of the harmonious blending of elements, the same as what is cooking over the fire in this cauldron. you are a small universe unto yourself and your body can be likened to a cauldron that blends these diverse energies. to become a real, wholesome, perhaps enlightened being you must perfect the art of 'cooking' in your little universe. you need to become a great and wise leader of yourself and harmoniously blend your heart, your mind, and your spirit in that cooking. this will aid you in becoming stable as this cauldron is, and you will find that you seek out and attract compatible and harmonious events and people into your life and lead a balanced existence. the cauldron transform that which is raw and hard into something soft and ripe, and in this way you may become the essence of useful beauty. remember, a wise leader gathers the elements, prepares the food, and then offers it to all beings of the tangible and spiritual realms. become a great cook in your own universe and there is no telling how far you may go. good fortune will be yours, fulfillment will come your way, and when you become as old as i, you may look at your life with supreme satisfaction."

the students then sat quietly and thought of this prospective future of Harmony, Stability and Compatibility as the humble old Seer and teacher stirred the contents of the cauldron....
