‹› ...of separate truths... ‹›
the Master Gardener burst into the room, excited as a child who just saw a butterfly for the first time. "excuse me for interrupting, Honored Teacher" she said dancing a little jig in the doorway, "but the new flowers have bloomed and the Faery Folk have appeared to bless the vines!" "well then" responded the Teacher with a beaming smile, "we must all go and see this marvelous sight." "yes, yes, do come everyone" the gardener literally sang. as they came close to the garden, she continued in a whisper "but approach quietly and with respect, lest we disturb the Faeries at their task and they become even more transparent. look very closely and you shall see them wrapped in a mist of their own making, playing music for the flowers and blessing the vines...." the students all murmured at the same time, "yes i see them, beautiful, wonderful, oohhh...." and one said. "are those flowers from the same vine?" "no dear one" answered the Gardener, "and that is in part why the Fae bless them." "please tell us, Master Gardener" implored the Teacher.
the Gardener took a deep breath filled with pride for her knowledge and ability to share, and continued: "yes, of course. you see everyone, these flowers come from two separate vines, yet they grow together in a synchronized manner, in a certain harmony if you understand. notice how they have bloomed simultaneously and their colors, though different, compliment each other well? well, the Faery Folk adore this sort of harmony and bless these vines so they may grow abundant and help direct and heal the energy of the entire garden with their beautiful union. the Fae regard these vines as separate truths, ideas, entities... separate beings you might say. and they recognize that as the vines grow, they entwine themselves around each other but do not fight for dominance or space. why, they even support each other as they grow, adding strength by their combined effort to reach the light in which they bask together with joy and fulfillment. the Faeries say that these vines and flowers have taught them much about how to be with their own kind and with others in this world, so they bless them always so they may continue to offer these lessons to those of us with eyes to see their beautiful union, and ears to hear their harmonious song.... it is indeed a marvelous sight."
as the students reluctantly took their leave, the Master Gardener heard one say, "sounds to me like an excellent way to go forth in this world...." "yes, i believe you are correct..." whispered the Teacher, glancing back at the Gardener with a deep smile of appreciation. "i think that's enough lessons for today ~ let's all stay outside and play together, shall we?"
with hope for us all to emulate the vines of separate truths
