‹› fearlessness and truth ‹›

"i am not afraid!" she shouted back at the other children. "you'll see. i will go right up to the door and knock on it!" "watch out" they taunted her: "she's a mean Bird Woman and will eat you for breakfast!" and they all started laughing as the young girl left saying, "i am not afraid. you'll see"

the truth was that she was a little afraid, but couldn't let them see that. it was time to stop their incessant taunting. when she arrived at the spooky old house she could actually see a ghost like figure with wings through the window coverings. she started to run away, but then heard this beautiful voice calling, almost singing "please child, don't go. what is it you want?"

the voice enchanted her and did not sound mean at all, so she turned and said "i was just trying to prove to those others that i am not afraid. they always tease me and call me names because i don't want to play their stupid games of war and fighting. i do not believe in killing, even if it is just play." just then the door opened, and taking a deep breath the young girl walked in and saw a glorious woman with beautiful wings sitting inside.

"it seems to me" spoke the woman, "that you have already shown a large amount of bravery by standing up to the others. many people want everyone else to be as they are, especially if they are wrong in what they do. you show an immense amount of strength by standing up for what you believe. you need not prove to them anything, but perhaps you need to find different friends..."

the tiny little girl smiled at that and then they both laughed together before the woman continued:

"you know little darling, perhaps they are a bit afraid of you because you are different. i have had the same experience much of my life. but let me tell you this ~ you must always follow your own truths, especially those you feel deeply in your heart, regardless of how others may taunt or tease. you see, that is true fearlessness. to stand in the face of those who would change you and hold fast to your beliefs. you, my little bird, have a strength far beyond theirs at the moment. please shine in that. you are in touch with the Divine Spark of peace and love inside you. please shine in that, for the world needs much more of that spark. do not be distracted from your heart by what others may be, or want you to be. you have a galaxy of potential inside you, and will fly very high with the wings of your fearlessness. do not attempt to prove, just do. the truth and the beauty of life shall surely fly with you."

"i find you very beautiful" whispered the young girl. "you see? you already see truth" laughed Eagle Woman. "come, fly with me and we shall see the world as it looks from the Sky...."
