☱ Ta Kuo ~ excess, constancy, greatness ☴
"Master Zhun, why are we gathered together at night?" asked the most curious one.
"it is important find our Way at all times as we strive toward enlightenment, even when beset by darkness and the storms of life" answered the Master.
"i'm a little afraid" whispered a very young student. "yes, little flower. at times we all fear the passages of darkness and storm; and this can be an excellent form of protection if that fear does not rule you. as long as you follow your inner listening and guidance, you shall be safe. now let us move quite slowly along the path. one of the great teachings says to avoid rashness and excess when we are in darkness.... why would that be?"
"if you move too fast, you might not see the stone in the path and stumble and fall" she responded.
"perfectly said, dear one; this is true on one's life path as well. i see you feel more brave already. good.... now, the teachings also say that one of the secrets of achievement at these times is the persistence and constancy of your efforts....
let us consider the majestic Sunflower we see glowing there before us ~ see how even in the darkness she reaches tall and high toward the Sun she knows will return tomorrow. the Sunflower stays strong in her heart and holds true to her method of growth from beginning to end. she does not waver in fear, but trusts in her own constancy to survive and weather any storm. she will drink in the sunshine when it is there, and not lament the times when it is not. if you, dear students, follow the example of the Sunflower, and carefully stay upon your path, you can achieve the same fullness and brightness within your own nature as does she. even more ~ by doing so, you may change any inner night into day, and the grace you gain from the passage will make you a wise and great seedling who may ultimately teach the Sunflower a few things....

so; let us now proceed with bravery and caution to see what else the night might show us."
blessings of wisdom and strength
