‹› traveler's log, entry 303; the Elfae ‹›

as a traveler, a wandering Bard through many ages, i forever encounter unusual and wondrous sights. i shall tell you now of today's wonder; truly a first for me.

whilst fording a stream in ancient Wood of stories untold,

singing a familiar tune of how cycles unfold,

i heard a small voice which harmonized mine

giving note for note in perfect time.

i turned to see and as i whirled,

beheld a boy with wings unfurled.

bemused yet not baffled i greeted the boy.

"good day, young sir" with undisguised joy.

"i would wager thrice i am elder to thee"

said he,

"but you see, age and time can never touch me.

my mother was Faery, my father was Elf,

so i am called Elfae, and nothing else.

i know thee as minstrel by the harp at thy shoulder;

and i am one too" as he purchased a boulder.

"i shall sing thee a song" and his wings opened wide,

of the joys and pleasures in which i abide:

celebrate the beginning of life every day

for the past is gone and on its way.

the yet to come is always yet to be,

so celebrate now and sing with me!

every day is different and that thee shall see,

if you celebrate now and sing with me!

flowers will bloom 'twere not there before

and new clouds will form, by triple, by score.

so worry not what has been our will come,

and on thy heart~strings let life be strummed.

i tell thee it is now that thee must live,

and let each new beginning happiness give.

so, celebrate now and sing with me,

and start thy new life with harmony."

Elfae bowed, then took my hand, and the rest of the day we flew the land.

i celebrate now every chance i see, and sing my new life in full harmony.
