‹› the Sun and the wagon wheel ‹›

the Seer, Hela, who traveled with their caravan gave only one reading to each person of the group. this one reading contained the knowledge they would carry with them for the rest of their life. today it was Resh's opportunity. Resh was aware of the old woman's particular brand of magic, so he was not at all shocked when Hela moved away from the cards she was contemplating for him, picked up an old wagon wheel and threw it into the sky. the wheel disappeared in and instant, but then Hela pointed up and said "Resh, see how the Great Wheel now rides with the sun?" "yes" he responded, noticing that the Sun was indeed animated now and resembled the center and spokes of a magnificent wheel.

"this is your reading, lucky boy" Hela continued. "it portends great things for you, if you but choose to ride the cycles of life with integrity and are aware enough to make the most of the golden opportunities presented therein. you are not one who follows others, Resh, but can become a leader and teacher of people if you desire. follow this wheel through your life, however, for it represents steady and auspicious progress and will carry you far, as do the wheels of our wagons. and just as do our wagon wheels, this wheel of life needs attention from you as you grow.... remember these few things:

accept knowledge from everyone and everything, even if you do not follow them. apply this knowledge with gratitude in your life.

as this wheel turns in your life, you will have realizations of high import that may be too great for words. do not attempt to explain these experiences, rather guide people to have revelations for themselves.

remember that the Sun can bring wondrous blessings, fruitfulness, and fulfillment; but it can also create a desert if the land upon which it shines is not cared for and nurtured. know, my boy, as you mature into the leader you will surely become, that all humans are your family and all beings are relatives. care for and nurture them, and your light will bring growth: care not for them, and your light may burn all to lifelessness.

and last, remember who you are; a potent being of magic and worth. the worldly Sun will shine on you at times as the cycles continue, and at times will sleep and shine not at all. remember at those times who you are: you are not the reflection of what others think of you, good or bad... you are a reflection of your inner Self ~ if the Sun beams forth from you, it will never sleep.

now go, my boy. roll with the wagon wheel of good fortune, and write your destiny well."
